  2. Logitech WSCAN and Windows 3.0/3.1

  4. The current version of ScanMan or ScanMan Plus includes a utility called 
  5. WSCAN which was designed to provide Windows 2.x compatibility. Since the
  6. introduction of Windows 3.1, many ScanMan users have been calling us 
  7. requesting an upgrade to WSCAN to support the Windows 3.1 platform. The 
  8. current WSCAN utility operates in real mode (WIN/R) but does not run in 
  9. standard or enhanced modes within Windows 3.0.

  11. Instead of modifying this basic WSCAN utility without adding any new 
  12. features, Logitech instead chose to work on a completely new concept and 
  13. has introduced a revolutionary software product which makes full use of 
  14. the Windows 3.1 graphical environment.

  16. If you own the PC version of the ScanMan or ScanMan Plus, this is your 
  17. chance to add the power of FotoTouch Color version 1.10 to your system. 
  18. FotoTouch is the software included with our high quality ScanMan Model 
  19. 256, ScanMan EasyTouch, and ScanMan Color.

  21. Following are some of the features included in FotoTouch Color 1.1:
  22.     *Auto stitching: You can automatically stitch a maximum of 4 scans
  23.      together, and handle twice the area of an 8.5"x11" flatbed 
  24.      scanner. 
  25.     *Windows 3.0 and 3.1 compatible.
  26.     *Image skew correction: if your hand wavers during scanning, 
  27.      FotoTouch Color makes it easy to correct any image skewing which
  28.      may result.
  29.     *16.8 million colors: Scan in black and white, 256 gray-scales, or
  30.      16.8 million colors (depending on model of ScanMan used). 
  31.      FotoTouch Color includes a full 24 bit (16.8 million) color 
  32.      palette. Convert black and white (dithered) images scanned 
  33.      directly with ScanMan Plus or ScanMan 32 into 32 gray scale. 
  34.      Increase or decrease depth of field of any image from 2 to 16.8 
  35.      million colors.
  36.     *Rotation/Resizing of images.
  37.     *Multiple zoom levels.
  38.     *Transparency variation of images being pasted.
  39.     *Brightness, contrast and tone adjustments.
  40.     *Edit multiple files on one screen.
  41.     *File formats supported: TIFF(packbits/LZW/uncompressed/Group 3 
  42.      FAX), PCX, BMP, EPS, and JPG (with variable compression).
  43.     *Microsoft OLE compatible server.
  44.     *TWAIN interface: Other TWAIN compatible applications, such as 
  45.      image editing, desktop publishing, and OCR, can now access the 
  46.      scanner directly. Further, TWAIN compliant hardware can be 
  47.      selected as other input source options within FotoTouch Color.
  48.     *Full system calibration (scanner, video and printer), to provide
  49.      true to the original image quality.

  51. Minimum system requirements:
  52.     *Logitech mouse or other Windows compatible pointing device.
  53.     *PC with 386SX or higher processor, or 100% compatible computer.
  54.     *MS or PC-DOS version 3.1 or higher.
  55.     *Microsoft Windows 3.0 or 3.1 running in Standard or Enhanced Mode.
  56.     *Minimum 4 MB of RAM 
  57.     *One 3.5" (720K) floppy drive and a hard disk with at least 5 MB 
  58.      of free disk space.
  59.     *16 color VGA adapter for gray-scale or black and white images. 
  60.      256-color adapter for color images.
